How to Make a Kick-Ass Cocktail

Brandtka Punch

GLASSWARE

Half-pint beer mug

ICE

Large cubes

GARNISH

Orange slice, lemon slice, mint sprig, grated nutmeg

SERVES 1

50ml (1 ¾ fl oz) Courvoisier VSOP Cognac

60ml (2fl oz) strong Earl Grey tea

20 ml (¾ fl oz) lemon sherbet

2 dashes of Angostura bitters

7ml (1 ½ tsp) maraschino liqueur

10 ml (2 tsp) lemon juice

DIRECTIONS

Poor all the ingredients to a half-pint beer mug, then add some large ice cubs. Stir briefly to mix and chill then top with more ice if required. Garnish with orange and lemon slices, a sprig of mint, and a dash of nutmeg.

BARTENDER’S TIP

To make the Earl Grey Tea: steep 1 teaspoon of good-quality loose-leaf Earl Grey tea per 150ml (1/4 pint) of freshly boiled water. Strain when you have a strong tea, but do not allow to stew. Cool before use.
